Bruce lay on the bed with Batman-themed bedsheets, his head resting on the bat-shaped pillow, surrounded by all kinds of Batman merchandise. He stared at a large life-sized poster of Batman above him on the ceiling, currently questioning his own life choices. It seemed a little strange to be hooking up with someone while having his own secret identity glare accusingly at him, but he supposed that there were weirder kinks out there.
The door creaked open and Clark stepped into the room, wiping away the excess water dripping from his freshly washed hair. Bruce sat up on the bed.
“Umm, I hope you don’t mind all my…stuff. As you can probably tell, I’m a huge fan of the hero.”
Bruce smirked flirtatiously at him. “I find it cute actually. How about we pretend that I’m Batman tonight? You can be the big bad villain that I’m apprehending.”
Clark looked sheepish. “I don’t think I’d make a convincing villain. Can I be another superhero? Maybe…Superman?”
Bruce’s smile faltered. Shit, he didn’t think the reporter would want to roleplay as the man whom he actually had feelings for. In the dim lighting of the apartment, the man even had a similar build as his superhero partner and could pass off as him. But this would only be a one-time thing right? Superman would never need to know. Bruce could write this off as temporary insanity caused by his own sleep deprivation.
“Well,” Bruce dropped his voice to a lower register, watching Clark shiver at the sound of his voice and standing up straighter. “Why did you call me here Superman? This better be good.”
Clark slowly approached the bed. Even the careful way he moved, like he was somewhat afraid of scaring him away if he moved too fast, was reminiscent of Superman.
“I don’t truly know why myself,” Clark answered. The look in his eyes was so earnest and hopeful that it hurts. He looked at him as though Bruce was really the Batman that he admired. He was, but Clark did not know that.
Clark took Bruce’s hand in his, and Bruce nearly flinched at the affectionate gesture. “But…I’m really glad you’re here with me tonight Batman.”

God I can’t remember it but someone else pitched this
So when DC tried to tie in Captain Marvel comics they basically put him as a comic within a comic, meeting Superman and his characters a few times and marveling (ha) that a comic book character came to life and was fighting in the real world.
I think they also pointed out in the post how Billy was from the 40’s and could grow up in those continuities and ended it with the fun idea of Superman being a Captain Marvel fan, with Billy having grown up and become a veteran hero for the modern time
And now my mind is just swirling with lil’ Clark reading some Captain Marvel adventures and tying a white towel around his shoulders to copy his cape and then older Clark geeking out meeting his hero (Ala Batman meeting his with the Grey Ghost) and getting along with his older colleague
It’s a fun switch of the “who inspired/inspires who?” thing and would leave lots of room for experimentation with an actual grown up Billy and Marvel Family
#if someone could find this post that’d be great#there’s plenty of kid looking Billy whose actually crazy old ideas but I need the actually old Billy idea#he’d be the jolliest old man you’ve ever met#meanwhile Clark is geeking out during a team up that has him partnered with his hero#hey you can even use the Suspendium and make Billy a little younger#shazam#billy batson#Superman#Clark Kent#captain marvel dc#dc captain marvel

Have some headcanons of the league being genuine friends with Bruce to combat all the aus and headcanons that the league know nothing about him and his family :))
Barry and Bruce get along super well. Bruce and Barry often compare cases and love talking about detective stuff together. Both go to each other to geek out about cases, more so Barry than Bruce, but either way they enjoy it. They are also the most introverted on the team, so they often will have moments when they need a break and find the other doing the same thing. They both find a lot of comfort in silently being able to enjoy each other’s company. Dick and Wally get along so well because Bruce and Barry were always down to hang out with each other.
Hal and Bruce obviously don’t get along super great, but they respect each other massively. Bruce actually took advice from Hal about the Batplane, and has even let him fly it. Their birthdays are also a day apart, so the league often throws shared parties for them. They have a friendly competition to see who can make a better cake everytime. They both lose, of course, because neither are good at baking. Luckily Barry doesn’t seem to mind finishing them off for everyone else.
Diana is very close to Bruce as well, but out of everyone, is mostly likely to actually touch him without losing a finger. Diana has a habit of picking up the closest person when excited and swinging them around, and when Bruce happened to be said person, all the other leaguers nearly lost it. They are also each others favorite sparring partners, as they both feel as if they learn something new every time.
Clark and Bruce are clearly besties, but are super competitive with one another. They often compete to get each other better gifts, Clark’s being insanely thoughtful, and Bruce’s being insanely expensive, as well as trying to mess with the other while at work. Clark will help the daily planet write about how Batman fell off a roof during a league battle, Bruce will post on Twitter every time Clark makes a spelling mistake. It’s all in good fun, but the league totally takes advantage of it to get the two off their backs.
J’onn is also one of Bruce’s favorites. It took a while for Bruce to warm up to J’onn, mostly because the mind reading thing put him on edge, but as soon as Bruce saw the tactile advantage, he was all over it. J’onn loves exploring Earths culture, and often enjoys watching movies with Bruce, who is somewhat of a movie buff for the classics. Bruce’s tendency to over analysis them is very enduring for J’onn, as the constant chattering is informational, as well as remind him of the constant telepathy on Mars.
Oliver and Bruce have known each other the longest, as their families wealth has caused them to run into each other before they were heroes. They often like to tag up at undercover missions and during business deals, as the familiarity is quite nice, especially in such a secretive occupation. Being able to cancel a meeting because Scarecrow just decided to go gas downtown Gotham is much easier to explain when your business partner gets it. They also have a one sided competition, but it’s only on Oliver’s side. He ties hard to outclass Batman both as Queen Industry’s and as Green Arrow, but it never seems to work. However, Oliver is a surprisingly good sport about it.
Dinah is one of Bruce’s other favorite sparring partners. Her skill is similar to his, and fighting someone who also can’t lift up a bus is a nice change of pace from time to time. Dinah often tries to tell him gossip, of which Bruce always denies wanting to hear, but gives in quite quickly. Often times people chalk up Bruce knowing what’s going on as him being Batman, but he’s actually just getting the information from Canary, who is much better at reading social cues than him. He knows when he needs to outsource lol.

oh sorry, also are there any comics i should avoid completely because the gp recognises them as being completely ooc or just not a sensical comic for supergirl?
and i was thinking of collecting the series of graphic novels that start with supergirl vol 1 - reign of the cyborg supermen. is that a good comic run? i have no clue when it comes to kara haha.
also, one last thing i promise! what is kara's true personality? like as kara danvers but also as supergirl. do they contrast each other? is she a geek or is she still just as powerful but in different ways when she's kara not sg? if that makes sense
again im so sorry for all the questions, kara is a character that really intruiges me and i really want to know the canon version of her. (unfortunately i loved the cw version of her, no matter what any one says) but i know that's nkt exactly correct.
im so sorry if ive bothered you, and i will be eternally greatful if you manage to answer my questions. thank you so much!
YES THERE ARE. Anything you see written by either Jeph Loeb or Joe Kelly should be avoided at all costs. This includes Superman/Batman (2003) #8-13 and Supergirl (2005) #0-19. Basically anything written between the years 2004 through 2007 should be avoided like the plague. The early 2000s was truly an evil era for Kara... she was oversexualized to hell and back and really didn't have any sort of characterization beyond "sexy teenager". The only thing that I think is somewhat worth reading from those years is Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes (2004) #16-36, but even that isn't super necessary if you don't want to slog through it just for her.
Aside from that.... this is just my controversial opinion, but I REALLY dislike everything Mariko Tamaki has written for Kara. This includes Supergirl: Being Super (2017) and the Supergirl Special (2023). I've just found that she has a very boring and uninspired take on Kara... Nothing she's written gives off the vibe that she's actually read any of Kara's comics. Being Super specifically irks me because it's literally just "what if Kara... was Clark!", and that's just not remotely interesting to me... Obviously nothing she's written is on par with the truly heinous shit that Loeb and Kelly were doing with Kara, so I don't want it to seem like I'm putting them on the same level! A lot of people DO like her Supergirl comics, I'm just not one of them.
Steve Orlando's run of Supergirl (2016)—which includes Reign of the Cyborg Supermen—was written specifically to appeal to fans of the CW show, so I imagine that if you like CW Supergirl, you'll also probably like that comic. I don't necessarily want to say that you shouldn't read it (since you like CWSG), but it's not something I recommend since the way that Kara's characterized there is quite different than any other comic version of her—past or present. If you do want to read something from Supergirl (2016) I recommend Marc Andreyko's run! It's spans from #21 to #36 (although I don't suggest reading past #33) and is collected in Supergirl vol. 1: Killers of Krypton and Supergirl vol. 2: Sins of the Circle.
As for her personality:
Kara is very headstrong and stubborn—she doesn't back down from her beliefs even if it means coming into conflict with her authority figures (like Clark, her mother, her employers, etc.).
She's also incredibly compassionate and protective—even in her early days as Supergirl when humans would reject her, she wasn't directly scornful of them and she'd still go out of her way to use her powers to keep them safe.
Relating to that, she's also very empathetic—there's been multiple storylines where Kara sees herself and her experience in the person she's helping, and it inspires her to do whatever she can to help them.
She's often driven by her anger and devastation of what happened to Krypton. The fury and nearly inconsolable despair that she feels for the mass death that was caused by Krypton's destruction is such a huge driving force for everything she does.
In regards to her interests: they change pretty frequently between continuities, but Pre and Post Crisis Kara was depicted as being very artistic in a lot of different areas! Kara used to have a passion for acting: she went to drama school, starred in two films, and went on to star in a soap opera. She was also very into fashion and used to wear so many cute outfits :'). Additionally, in Post Crisis continuity, she was a painter and even contemplated joining the Art Guild on New Krypton just like her father did. Recently she hasn't been shown to be that artistic and instead has an interest in history (Kryptonian history, that is). Before Krypton's destruction she was invited to study at the Society of Historical Science, and she actually preferred history to applied science. She does have a lot of scientific understanding (both because she's apart of the House of El and because Krypton is so scientifically advanced), but I've always loved that she's shown a consistent interest in the humanities rather than science!
As a quick aside, Kara has had a couple different human identities over the years: she was Linda Lee Danvers (sometimes just referred to as Linda Danvers) during Pre Crisis continuity, and that was her most fleshed out and meaningful identity imo since it lasted for around 26 years. During Post Crisis she briefly went by Linda Lang, and then in the Rebirth continuity she'd go by Kara Danvers to match the CW show. All that to say, she really doesn't differ that much in personality when she's in her human identity than when she's Supergirl! Aside from pretending that she doesn't have powers, she's still just as incredibly headstrong and compassionate and protective when she's [insert human ID here] as she is when she's Supergirl.
Okay now I'm just going to drop a few reading guides / comic recommendations that I've made here if you're interested!
Ultimate Supergirl Reading Guide Supergirl Storyline Recommendations Pre Crisis Supergirl Recommendations
#asks#kara zor el#i already said this in my last answer but i promise asking me about supergirl doesn't bother me at all!#i love yapping about her <3

Random Weird Headcanons
I will casually watch and read a ton of comics and comic related shows as I unwind and have weird headcanons sometimes. Just needed to get a few of them out my head.
Jason Todd finding Superman, John Constantine, The Ray, random JL members sometimes to have Jennie-O turkey roast, Stove Top stuffing and a Pepperidge Farm cake because that was his holiday/birthday/celebration meal before his time living rough as a kid, even if it was from a soup kitchen sometimes, and he doesn't think the 'raised by Batman' crowd would do that and he worries he would insult Alfred if he asked when he wants this meal.
Clark making himself a cup of tea at the Watchtower and Bruce critiques everything from the type of tea to the brewing method, then decides to teach Clark how to make tea. (I am sure this exists, but I love the idea.)
Bruce and Oliver Queen ending up at the same event and trying to out himbo each other, knowing the other is not as stupid as they are acting, with the other trying to make them slip into Green Arrow or Batman behavior.
The Ray spending time with various superheroes and fanboying while learning flying without running into geese and powers and stuff and lecturing them and trying to have them help with support services for their cities (version I watched he was a social worker from Tulsa) So geeking out about meeting Batman and watching him use a grappling hook, then lectures about ACE scores and taking CPTSD seriously and listing off therapists, because he is done with hearing everyone's excuses about that shit, he doesn't care he is lecturing Batman, but he'll follow up in (work autopilot mode). There are probably Justice League members watching who will intervene with him if he is in danger.
So these are today's headcanons.

My Thought On My Adventures With Superman Episode 7
Episode 7 was a wild ride. It started off slow having Clark and Lois reboot their relationship and Clark asking her out on a date which was adorable. Loved that you had Jimmy in the background of all that geeking out over the Kryptonian technology. Also, loved how Jimmy watches his friends over analyze their date. It was hilarious when Clark just noped Mxy when he initially asked for help, but was automatically all in when he thought Lois was in trouble. Mxy is such a chaos gremlin. He fitted in nicely as an antagonist for our characters.
One of the best things I liked about the episode was it was loaded with easter eggs. We got to see multiple iterations of Superman and Lois. With Lois, they actually had a league of Lois fighting crime which was cool to see. Also, got to see Doctor Fates helmet, Legioneer ring, hawk girls mace, the green lantern, lasso of truth, Star Girl's staff, and much more. It makes me wonder if in future episodes if we will see other superheroes on this show. Personally, I would like to see Bruce Wayne make an appearance. Not as Batman though. I think it would be funny if he was also vying for Lois' affection or had an established connection with her. A better person to have would be Martian the Manhunter though. He would be able to give him information about Krypton. There is rumors that Kara would be on the show. I would be curious if she is on if she would be a reliable narrator on Krypton's intentions with sending Clark to Earth.
With everything jammed pack in this episode, I was amazed that we were also able to see emotional development with the characters as well. You saw that Lois's self esteem was effected when she saw the other Lois' accomplishments and how some of them have better relationships with their father, and Clark's insecurities came out a bit when Mxy told him that he was far from normal and would never be normal. I liked how Clark and Lois were able to talk those things out and realize they are fine as just the way they are. I am curious about the ending. Lois now knows that not all Clark's are good. I am hoping she doesn't start to have doubts about Clark. I do think it will give her more of a drive to find out where Clark comes from though.

dp/dc ship week 2023 ideas
so, with ship week coming up i'm sure a lot of us are stumped on what ships we want to write. i know for me, i wanted to use it as an excuse to write ships i haven't gotten around to yet, or that have taken me by the throat. as the Batpham Server's Patron Saint of w|w and poly ships, i bring to you some rare pairs and ideas for ship week. these can be platonic or romantic!!!
First/Last
Jazz Fenton/Dick Grayson (Nightbirds) - you could play off how they're the first sibling, and if you want to make it angsty, how they're the last ones in their family to die.
Arranged Marriage AU
Danny Fenton/Duke Thomas (Will-o-Whisps) - Duke reads off of an artifact he found in the unused part of the manor and accidentally gives himself in marriage to the ghost king. after they figure it out, Danny decides he's pretty cute and asks him to coffee.
Holding Hands/Kiss
Dani Phantom/Lian Harper (Trick Shot) - it's hard to hold your girlfriend's hand when she makes you so nervous you turn into goo.
Soulmate AU
Valerie Gray/Kara Zor-El (Valkyrie) - for so long, when Valerie would write on her arm, no one would respond. when she decides that soulmates are a scam and she had bigger things to worry about, like keeping a roof over their heads, she finally gets a message in an unknown language.
Family/Friends
Dan Phantom/Tim Drake (Bad Ending) - with all their friends and family dead, a young Dan and Tim find themselves drawn together. with Dan's power and Tim's brain, nothing can stand in the way of this Bonnie and Clyde retelling.
Coffee Shop AU
Dani Phantom/Tim Drake (Travel Photos) - Tim didn't expect to find a girl on top of his favorite coffee shop when he snuck up to take photos of Batman and Robin. he gets her to trust him enough to go downstairs for a late-night hot chocolate and muffin.
Promise/Conflict
Jazz Fenton/Cassandra Cain (Speech Therapy) - Jazz promised Danny she would keep living after his death but she doesn't know how. Cass promised herself she'd never kill again, but if she isn't a killer what else is she? broken and conflicted, they meet each other.
Wings AU
Paulina Sanchez/Kara Zor-El (Star Struck) - Dragon!Paulina (whether she just kept some of the powers or was given the necklace by Dorathea) is flying around the midwest when she's spotted by another flying girl. naturally, they hit it off.
Secret Identity/Danger
Danny Fenton/Sam Manson/Tucker Foley/Tim Drake (Everlasting Insomniacs) - Tim is visited by a time god and given a mission to stop the catalyst of the end of the world. it starts with tutoring.
Friends to Lovers AU
Dani Phantom/Irey West (Short Circuit) - it's not abnormal to see a speedster in the Zone, in fact, you could even call it a normal occurrence. Dani's favorite visits are from a cute, sassy, redhead.
Fight/Heal
Sam Manson/Zatanna Zatara (Black Rabbit) - Zatanna didn't mess with necromancy. there were just some things magic shouldn't meddle in, and she knew that, so when the Justice League called her to interrogate a known necromancer, she's weary. Sam is at the same time exactly what Zatanna expected, and nothing like she thought. (fills the prompt because necromancy is the opposite of healing, which insinuates necromancy can heal too.)
Enemies to Lovers AU
Tucker Foley/Tim Drake (Techno Geek) - Tim is constantly trying to stop Hacktavist TooFine from breaking into the Wayne servers. it becomes something of a game, and Tim finds himself enthralled in the puzzle.
Royalty/Servitude
Jazz Fenton/Jason Todd/Roy Harper (Street Smarts) - Jason and Roy find themselves getting sacrificed by a cult to the Ghost King as his eternal servants. they weren't expecting Queen Regent Jazz to decline their offer.
No Capes AU
Danny Fenton/Clark Kent (Last Suns) - Danny always believed in aliens. it was part of the reason he became an astronaut. he never expected to actually meet one. he also never expected them to be a farmer.
this post has been such fun to make, i love a good rare pair and these prompts are killer. i won't be doing any of these, i have mine planned out already, but let me know if you'd like a sneak peek ;) or if you'd like more variations on the prompts. happy creating!!!

as someone who is a stubborn completionist comic reader and a somewhat studied fan of DC in particular, this was the best & funniest post. "you guys haven't read the horror side of DC!" and then following that up with the flash is, like, the best. noted DC horror character barry allen. i'm calling the period in the 70s where barry was a republican to oliver queen's liberal to hal's shocked face of horror (yes, this was an actual title DC ran) the horror flash era.
i want to say that you are definitely right, but just like, substitute the flash for, like, the doom patrol. jane's powerset is by definition kind of infinite. cliff steele is a brain in a robot body who bashes his face into walls because he can't feel pain. negative man is... not altogether that different from danny, actually. alan moore's swamp thing, maybe one of DC's most famous horror titles of all time, features an issue where you find out the swamp thing isn't a person-crossed-over-with-plant-DNA, but a sentient plant that absorbed alec holland's consciousness before he died. that's also not all that dissimilar to what danny goes through, if not actually kind of worse. swamp thing's powers are also not that dissimilar, to be honest - there's one really funny bit (context: swamp thing and constantine fucking hate each other) where swamp thing has to possess constantine for a bit.... and he takes constantine's body to get a tattoo of a tree on his ass. i digress.
i'd also argue in favor of one dynamic in particular: as a character, danny is a spider-man pastiche, pretty obviously. but when spider-man was originally created, he was, like all other heroes at the time, a riff on the most popular, enduring symbol of superheroes: superman.
i love superman comics, like a lot, actually. superman comics have come to revolve around the question of giving a human person infinite physical power. there's no such thing as beating superman because the whole point is, you can't - clark's become so overpowered over the years that it's come to be meaningful within the story, like death of superman was only as impactful as it was because it was the death of fucking superman. clark's consistently depicted as always, always aware of his strength, because he can flick someone a mile away. (he does this to deathstroke once while drunkenly posing as bruce wayne. they actually hadn't met yet)
but in a real way, superman lives in a world of cardboard. there is next to nothing he can't destroy without even trying. his struggle has become power and how to wield it, power and how to manage it safely, how to use his senses without getting overwhelmed. powers so acute they cause sensory overwhelm are a superfam rite of passage, as is ethically dubious cloning, as is billionaires making tech to kill specifically you, as is growing up terrified of governmental vivisection. these things are in danny phantom because they're also features of spider-man comics, but spider-man got it from superman. there are comics where clark's hearing is so acute he can pinpoint batman's heartbeat across the planet. like, i don't do crossovers much, but i see a LOT of danny-meets-the-batfam (which is fine! i love the batfam! have your fun!) when my natural instinct is actually clark-takes-danny-to-space. i mean, clark literally has a glacier fortress of infinite ice where he houses endangered space animals. he keeps pet sun eaters. i don't even know what the fuck a 'sun eater' is but it's an alien pet and clark has a plurality of them, what more does a superpowered space geek need?
too many dpxdc headcanons about danny creeping the other heroes out that were obviously made by fans who havent read the more horror side of dc. danny would complain about slowly losing his humanity and the flash would say "i get that, i also died more times than i can count and im not sure if im fully human anymore" and they would high five and go get burgers together
#dpxdc#i say this as someone who has read a ludicrous amount of batman comics#i say this as someone whose actual favorite comic book anything is batman#i say this as someone who has written tens of thousands of words about BRUCE WAYNE#but: danny would fucking hate that guy#and i don't think bruce can work with a dead teenager after famously losing a teenager at the same age#no: clark is taking this one and he's taking this fucker to space#(i was burned hard when DC teased chris kent bc i was excited for a REAL superdad arc. and then they REBOOTED THE UNIVERSE—)#(and then they introduced jon and AGED JON UP—)#(TLDR there's a hole in my heart for superdad)#disappointment central comics#actually now that i think of it you actually could replace ghosts with kryptonians and you....#would basically have the best of both spider-man and superman#OH THAT'S WHY WE'RE ALL STILL HERE IN 2024#so sorry for rambling op lol

I’ve been kind of brain dead for ideas lately but an old one that I was batting around the other day was, following Jack Drake’s death everyone was scrambling to figure out what to do with Tim. Bruce wanted to adopt him, Dana was going to take him when she was well enough, Dick probably threw his hat into the ring to give the kid options.
Now Tim has this grand scheme to circumvent all this by hiring an actor to portray a made-up uncle but he looks out at the city one night and is Tired. This city stole his peace, bits of his flesh, his friends and now his dad. Suddenly he doesn’t want to live there anymore. He makes a phone call and a few days later, he’s on a bus to Smallville to be fostered by Martha Kent.
Kon was a little surprised at the call but Martha didn’t hesitate to sign those papers. She’d seen the fallout of Tim when his mother died, if no one else would take care of Tim then she would. He arrives with a backpack full of clothes and a U-Haul of computer equipment which he sets up in the back guest room barely leaving room for a bed.
He goes to Smallville High with Conner, eats an early, homemade dinner by Ma who kisses his forehead before he Zetas back to Gotham for patrol. He’s still Robin, still fights and bleeds for Gotham. But he can’t live there, not right now. Bruce is doing his pouty hurt dad routine, Dick thinks he’s trying to make a move on Kon but really Tim is tired of the brutality of the city and wants some peace for once in his life. He Zetas back early in the morning, quietly knocks on Ma’s door so she knows he’s back and heads to bed.
His allergies give him hell in the country but he still insists on helping Kon with chores. Conner laughs at how badly he fumbles through livestock feeding and crop tending and starts working on ways to make it more efficient. He sleeps through class and spars out in the open fields and, when he’s feeling homesick, Kon will fly him real high and drop him and he can pretend like he’s just dived off a skyscraper. Martha reminds him to eat, to sleep, to wash behind his ears and stop looking at gruesome crime scene photos at the dinner table. Tim’s never had a happy, normal family situation. It unnerves him but it soothes him too as he works, really works, on some of his more self-destructive habits. For Ma’s sake. Martha knows this is only temporary, that Tim can’t, won’t, stay away from Gotham forever. But she drapes a blanket over his shoulder where he’s fallen asleep 5 minutes into a movie on the couch and brushes his hair out of his sleep deprived eyes. She loves Bruce like a second son but Tim is her baby now too and she’ll tear B to shreds if he doesn’t properly care for Tim when he returns.
Kon and Tim, who’d been kind of dancing around their feelings for years, are now in an equally strange dynamic of ‘are we brothers now? are you just a bud crashing indefinitely at my house? we come and go from Titans Tower together what does everyone THINK is happening???’ and settle for just doing nothing. They do stay up late on nights Tim isn’t in Gotham talking about bad tv shows and how lame school is and rocket ships and the latest supervillain scandal. As weird as the situation is, Tim looks happier and healthier than he has in ages. Plus it’s kinda rad to have a sleepover with your best friend every night. As far as he is concerned, Tim never has to step foot in Gotham again.
Clark comes back to the farm from a long space mission to find Batman’s latest sidekick typing up a storm typing on a computer with one hand and stirring soup with the other. “Sup,” Tim mumbles as he remains focused on both his tasks. “Sorry, guest room is mine now. I’d offer it up but it’s a pretty tight fit in there with all my gear.” And that’s how he found out his Mom may or may not have legally kidnapped Batman’s sorta maybe I guess not kid from under his nose and he’s Clark’s unofficial little brother. All he knows is Bruce is going to be a nightmare at the next League meeting.
#first thought of this when writing secret robin#when exploring options of where Tim could go#and the idea of him fleeing the city and going to smallville with his best friend#its a bit sweet#Tim loves his city but hes been through a lot and maybe a kid wants some stability#wants a parent who Knows but accepts him weird quirks and all#so long as they don't affect his health#she feeds him cookies and pets his hair and listens to him geek out on music and cold cases#he doesn't think he'll be able to stay away from gotham for long#but right now this is nice#Martha Kent will throw down with Batman to keep Tim safe#Clark is very confused#he calls Tim scamp one time and Tim's like Mr Kent dont do that#anyway yeah weird au thoughts Im thinking again like 4 months later

Aight so I'm not the biggest Batman geek but I don't have to be to know that in this fictional universe, Batman is an incredibly compassionate person. He needs this 'no kill code' of his as much as the people around him need it.
It's one of the reasons why Clark is considered his best friend. Both of them are two sides of the same coin. If in all this darkness, Clark is the bright shining hand that's reaching out to you. (Which some people aren't going to take for reasons where they think maybe they don't deserve it, that it's too late, that they won't be understood, that it's flat out intimidating). Then Bruce is the hand within the darkness that's reaching out to you. It's kind of hard to be that hand if that 'no kill code' isn't there.
The compassion, bravery, genuine love for people, and etc. that Bruce represents and tries to enforce is worth so damn much in a place as seemingly hopeless as Gotham. It's a shame some people forget that.
No offense, but people who disregard Bruce's no killing code and boil every rogue/criminal into an irredeemable melting pot kinda worry me. " death is easier than rehabilitation " lmao way to sound like a fucking cop
#it's also why Bruce keeps finding all these children and Robins lol#Batman#DC#text#Gotham#long post
